John Paul II High School Announces Dr. Danny Ledbetter as New Principal
John Paul II High School (JPII) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Danny Ledbetter as the school’s new Principal, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Ledbetter, who currently serves as JPII’s Chief Advancement Officer, brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership, a deep commitment to faith-based education, and a passion for fostering student success.
“I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand how this remarkable school offers students an environment that would make Saint John Paul II proud,” said Dr. Ledbetter. “I am honored to step into this leadership role and look forward to working with our exceptional faculty, students, and families to build upon JPII’s legacy of academic excellence and faith formation.”
Dr. Ledbetter’s appointment follows an extensive national search in partnership with The Education Group. After a rigorous selection process, which included interviews with faculty, parents, and students, Dr. Ledbetter emerged as the ideal candidate to lead JPII into its next chapter. His leadership qualities—rooted in faith, professionalism, and a strong vision for the school’s future—stood out among a highly competitive pool of applicants.

Before joining JPII, Dr. Ledbetter spent eleven years in educational leadership at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Sherman and McKinney ISD, gaining valuable experience in administration, curriculum development, and student engagement. A devoted member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney, Dr. Ledbetter is passionate about fostering a Christ-centered learning environment where students can thrive academically, spiritually, and personally.
As Dr. Ledbetter transitions into his new role, JPII remains committed to shaping faith-filled leaders through rigorous academics, service, and spiritual development. The school community looks forward to celebrating this new chapter and supporting Dr. Ledbetter in his vision for the future.
