Dave Davies
CONSULTANT, EXECUTIVE COACH
In his forty-two years in independent schools, Dave has served as a Head of School, Interim Head of School, Assistant Head, and Head of Upper School. In addition, he has taught, coached, served as a dorm parent, directed a college guidance office, and held numerous other administrative roles. Dave has held leadership positions in Episcopal, Methodist, and non-religiously affiliated institutions.
For twenty-seven years, Dave and his family lived on campus at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Pennsylvania. A physics and biology teacher and wrestling coach, he also held numerous administrative positions. At Wyoming Seminary, Dave created and led the Teaching Intern Program, hiring three or four recent college graduates each year and helping them to launch their careers in independent school teaching.
In 2003, Dave accepted the challenge of starting the Upper School at Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, TX. Beginning with fifty students and five full-time faculty, Dave led the growth of the division to almost 400 students and 30 faculty in six years. In his last two years, as Assistant Head, Dave was responsible for the operation of two campuses and 1200 students.
Dave became Headmaster of Deerfield-Windsor School, a Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade day school in Albany, GA in 2009. He led a successful capital campaign, began an endowment for faculty professional development, led the building of a health and fitness center, and reorganized and refocused the academic program.
For the 2017-2018 academic year, Dave served as Interim Head of School at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School in Silicon Valley, CA. A Prekindergarten through eighth grade day school, Saint Andrew’s enrolls more than 300 students.
Dave has served on numerous boards including Preston Hollow Presbyterian School and the Pennsylvania Association of Private Academic Schools (now PAIS). He was also a member of the Vestry and Rector Search Committee at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Albany, GA. Dave has chaired accreditation teams in four different states and has served on twenty visiting committees.
A graduate of Wilkes University with a BS in biology and MS in Education, Dave earned a second Master’s degree from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.
His wife, Gina, is a private school early childhood teacher. They have two sons, one of whom is on the faculty at Episcopal High School in Virginia.
