St. Andrew’s Announces New Head of Lower School, Yvonne Cervantez Russell.
After a national search with The Education Group, St. Andrew's Episcopal School is excited to share that we have hired Yvonne Cervantez Russell to be our next Head of Lower School at St. Andrew’s beginning on July 1, 2024. Mrs. Russell joins us from St. George Episcopal School in San Antonio, where she has served for the past nine years as the Director of Lower School.
St. Andrew's Episcopal School has announced the appointment of Yvonne Cervantez Russell as the new Head of Lower School, starting from July 1, 2024. Formerly the Director of Lower School at St. George Episcopal School in San Antonio, Russell is recognized for her success as both a teacher and administrator. Her achievements include implementing a technology initiative, aligning curriculum, introducing a school-wide assessment tool, prioritizing faculty development, and fostering diversity and inclusion. Russell, who values data and metrics for continuous improvement, has received positive community feedback for her collaborative leadership style and emphasis on open communication. She is eager to contribute to the thoughtful planning and development of St. Andrew's Lower School. Russell, with a rich background in education, will be joined by her husband and children in Austin this summer.
