Established in 1972 by the merger of four schools, Kentucky Country Day School (KCD) is one of the premier independent schools in Kentucky. Enrolling more than 820 students in grades Junior Kindergarten through grade twelve, KCD has an 80+ acre campus. In addition to classrooms and laboratories, the campus includes extensive athletic and performing arts facilities. KCD is fully accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). The school’s motto is “Citizen, Scholar, Steward”, and KCD fully lives into that motto. KCD challenges its students to achieve their highest level of academic excellence and to grow into honorable people of confidence and integrity. Position
In its next Head of School, Kentucky Country Day is seeking an enthusiastic, visionary leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills who can inspire the confidence and respect of the entire school community. The school seeks an experienced leader in the field of independent school education who is known as a collaborator and has demonstrated skills in relationship building, mentorship and strategic thinking. This individual must be committed to continuing the school’s educational philosophy of academic excellence within a warm and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities begin July 1, 2025. An interim Head is serving for the 2024-2025 school year.
